What Happens When Content Is Reported
System generates a unique Copyright Ticket ID and logs the report into our moderation database.
The reported sound file is flagged as Under Review to prevent unverified distribution.
Our moderation team verifies ownership proof, sound URL, and copyright claims within 24-48 hours.
If valid, the audio file is permanently deleted from servers and search indexes.

Uploader Counter-Notice Procedure
If an uploader believes their audio clip was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification (e.g. valid Fair Use or public domain status), they may submit a counter-notice to contact@mymemesound.com providing proof of authorization.
My Meme Sound (mymemesound.com) complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and international copyright legislation. It is our policy to respond to any infringement notices and take appropriate actions under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and other applicable intellectual property laws.
1. Fair Use Notice & Non-Commercial Purpose
My Meme Sound hosts user-submitted short audio clips, sound effects, public domain sounds, and meme dialogues. These short audio snippets are hosted under the Fair Use Doctrine (17 U.S. Code § 107) for non-commercial educational, commentary, parody, and creative video editing purposes. We do not sell audio content or claim ownership over third-party trademarks.
2. Submitting a DMCA Copyright Takedown Notice
If your copyrighted material has been uploaded to My Meme Sound without authorization, you may submit a formal DMCA takedown notification. To expedite processing, please send an email containing the following information to our Designated Copyright Agent at contact@mymemesound.com:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list of such works.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and exact URLs (e.g.
https://mymemesound.com/meme/sound-name-download-mp3-free) to enable us to locate the content. - Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and an email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
3. Processing & Content Removal Timeline
Upon receipt of a valid and complete DMCA notice, our Designated Copyright Agent will review the request and remove or disable access to the infringing material within 24 to 48 hours. Confirmation of the removal will be emailed back to the copyright claimant.
